You may have heard about or seen Caffeine AI on social media lately. It’s a new AI driven platform that lets you create websites and apps simply by chatting or describing what you need. Website code is generated in front of your eyes and your website is built. You can edit and make changes to your site also by simply telling the Caffeine chat bot what you want. Some people are claiming it’s a game changer. Let’s take a detailed look at it.
Caffeine AI Pricing and Plans

The good news is that you can start and try out Caffeine AI free. You’re given a fixed amount of credits to work with that is usually sufficient for a very basic website or app. However, if you need a more complex site (e.g. e-Commerce), or you want to use your own custom domain or use email, then you’ll need to opt for one of the paid plans.
Although Caffeine AI has a Starter Plan for $12.99 mo., you need at least the Plus Plan at $23.99 mo. for custom domains and email. Their Pro Plan costs $79.99 mo. As you can see, prices run higher than your traditional website hosting.
Benefits of Using Caffeine AI to Build a Website
With Caffeine AI, you simply tell or type your requirements and your website is automatically created for you. If you need to make changes, again you just need to tell Caffeine AI what you want. Your initial site build and future edits are first delivered in Draft Mode, so you can test them out before pushing them out live.
The other big advantage according to Caffeine is tighter security. They say the code and data created with Caffeine is tamperproof. And as it runs on the Internet Computer Network (ICP), is more secure than traditional tech stacks. Of course, time will tell if this is actually true.
Creating Your Website with Caffeine AI

In testing out Caffeine AI, I was able to create a basic website and app successfully. However, I was surprised that the website creation process wasn’t a bit faster. While it’s fairly quick compared with starting a site from scratch years ago, I’ve actually got a site up and running quicker with some of the newer website builders offered by web hosts such as Bluehost or SiteGround.

If you’re more comfortable working with a tool like ChatGPT or other chatbots, then Caffeine may be a good fit for you. However, if you prefer working within a more graphical interface, there are better options out there.
Creating An App with Caffeine AI

One of the advantages of building a website with Caffeine AI is that you can also quickly and easily create an app of your site. It’s not an app in the traditional sense of the word. You don’t publish it to an app store. Caffeine AI creates a Progressive Web App (PWA). Basically, when your website is viewed on a mobile device, there is an option to add your site icon to your home screen. It then can be opened and used like a regular app.
Caffeine AI Website Speed and Performance
For basic websites, I found website speed and performance to be acceptable with Caffeine AI. It’s about on par with other website builders as far as page loading and core web vitals. Obviously speed may depend on how complex your website is and the type of content on your pages (e.g. large images).
While speed and performance is fair to good, the disadvantage with Caffeine, as opposed to traditional website platforms such as WordPress, if that you don’t have control over performance improvements. For example, with WordPress you can get an optimized server, add performance plugins, etc. With Caffeine, you work with what is created.
Here are some sample speed test results:

Caffeine AI Customer Support
The advantage with Caffeine is that you can directly request something or ask questions right within the Caffeine AI chat bot interface. However, responses are not always as immediate as say asking ChatGPT questions. Also, who may have to ask a question in a different way if Caffeine AI does not understand correctly. For those reasons, I would prefer some type of live chat support or some way to connect with a human support agent.
Caffeine AI Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Easy Chat Interface for Creating Websites
- Ability to Create Apps (PWAs)
- Theoretically Tighter Security with ICP
- Ability to Test in Draft Mode Before Going Live
Cons:
- More Expensive Than Traditional Websites
- May Not be as Intuitive for Some
- No Live Chat Support
Conclusion and Recommendation
While the concept behind Caffeine AI is very good, it is still very new. At this point, I would be hesitant to use it for a mission-critical website. If you just need a very basic site and app, or you’d like to experiment with it, then I’d encourage you to check it out.
Personally, I prefer a graphical interface for creating and editing websites. As I mentioned above, if you’re comfortable working in strictly a chatbot mode, then maybe Caffeine is a good fit for you. I would like to see response times improved when submitting questions and requests to the Caffeine chat interface. Although it’s not a super long wait, it’s probably a bit slower than you would expect.
For now the bottom line is, if you need a basic website and also really want an app as well, then I would suggest taking a look at Caffeine. Otherwise, I would stick to other website platforms and traditional web hosting right now—at least until Caffeine AI has been refined and has more of a track record.
